Graduates

Each year CBRE recruits a number of graduates to join its Graduate Rotation Programme. The Graduate Recruitment Programme is open to graduates from all disciplines.

Closing date for applications for the 2007 graduate rotation programme intake is 31 December with initial short listing and first round interviews taking place in the month of January.
Once graduates have been appointed they join our Graduate Rotation Programme.

We have developed the Graduate Rotation Programme with the needs of the graduate in mind. It is designed to give you the opportunity to experience a wide variety of surveying work, which in turn will allow you fulfil your Assessment of Professional Competence in the shortest time possible. It has also been designed to develop well–rounded competent and experienced chartered surveyors who are capable of operating in more than one area of the business.

The objective of the Graduate Rotation Programme is to place a Graduate in at least two departments (e.g. Consultancy & Agency) in order that they can achieve sufficient experience to achieve their Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). At the end of the 2nd year, the Graduate should be well capable of sitting their final APC exam and at this stage graduates final ‘destination’ department will be determined. We do however recommend that the graduate has three years work experience under their belt before sitting the APC.

On your commencement you will be appointed a line manager (supervisor) and mentor (counsellor). The supervisor and counsellor have a dual role of advising and supporting you in your development, as well as assessing your competence. In addition our Graduate Placement Panel will monitor your progress and identify your placement opportunities.

Graduates joining CB Richard Ellis should be capable of operating in one or more areas of the business. The skills needed by good surveyors include a methodical approach to work and an eye for detail. Also, the ability to present ideas and make swift decisions is beneficial. In all cases the candidate must be able to develop a rapport with the client. In essence, we are looking for a cross section of individuals who can complete and enhance our clients instructions.

CB Richard Ellis has a formal graduate training programme in operation covering all areas of career and professional development.
