Below are what some of our employees said about working with CBRE.

Caroline O'Beirne
Associate Director - Valuation Department

I joined CB Richard Ellis almost a year ago as Associate Director in the Valuations Department with 7 years experience in all aspects of commercial valuations and rent reviews in Ireland. My decision to take up an offer of joining the CBRE team was based on its reputation of being a professional and dynamic company, driven by talented young people who would be fun to work with.

My previous contact with CBRE was positive and friendly and my time here has proven this to be the case. Although CBRE is a large and expanding company, it manages to maintain a flat hierarchical structure which is very appealing. One of my new roles since joining CBRE are supervisory and mentoring which means I am involved in developing our graduate talent. I have since been in a position to broaden my valuation experience and my most high profile project to date has been a portfolio valuation for Green Property Limited.

Alan Moran
Graduate Surveyor - Investment

One of the key factors that attracted me to CBRE was the leading market position held by the firm. The company had been involved in most of the high profile deals conducted in Ireland last year and I felt that working here would give great exposure to deals of this size. Another significant factor that influenced my decision was the high level of training offered to graduates. This training is specifically tailored to meeting the various requirements for your APC’s.

As a company one of the big pluses to a new graduate starting out is the highly approachable nature of the staff here regardless of title or position. There is also a great social side to working at CBRE with at least one work night out every month.

I have worked for the past six months in the investment department and have really enjoyed it so far. Graduates are quickly given the opportunity to become involved in the deals that are going on and this is another bonus.

Christine O'Reilly
Graduate Surveyor - Development Land

Having joined CB Richard Ellis as part of the Graduate Rotation Programme in June 2005 this was my first full time job following the completion of my Property Economics Degree in DIT Bolton Street. Myself and four other graduates were the first to take part in this programme which has been designed to help us achieve experience for our APCs and become Chartered Surveyors. The programme is excellent and has allowed me to work in two departments within the company to date.

My first placement was in the Research and Consultancy department. This placement gave me a great grounding for what was going on in the property market. It allowed me to get an understanding on the different roles each department in the company played, and I had a chance to work with the majority of them on various projects. Part of the research department’s work involved advising clients on the development potential of lands which led me into my second placement in the Development Land Department.

I have been in the Development Land Department since June 2006 and I am really enjoying it. I have been involved in the sale of a number of properties dealing with every aspect of the campaign from start to finish. This placement has allowed me to gain invaluable experience dealing directly with high profile clients and building relationships with a large variety of people involved in the property development sector. I have learned significantly from the other experienced members of the department who have been really eager to help me and have involved me in as many projects as possible.

Each member of the company is really approachable and they are always willing to help. There is no hierarchy within the company which is great when you are a graduate starting at the bottom. The social life of the company is fantastic and there are a lot of great nights out which are nearly always supplemented which is also good news as a graduate. My next placement in the company has not yet been decided but I will be involved in the decision process so I know it will be in an area that I will enjoy while also gaining the experience I need to get through the final stage of my APCs.
