Dublin, April 11th, 2022 -

Today, CBRE release their Ireland Investment & Funding Q1 2022 report. The report focuses on Irish commercial property investment and funding dynamics and highlights some of the key themes, deals and metrics that are influencing the market at present.

In the current inflationary environment, investors continue to deploy heavily into real estate across Europe. Indeed, according to CBRE, investment in most European markets in Q1 2022 is up year-on-year. The Irish market continues to be attractive to global investors with almost €760 million invested in real estate in the first three months of the year. In the new report to be launched by the property consultants today, the relationship between inflation, interest rates and real estate pricing is explored.

According to the author of the report, Colin Richardson, “Secure, long income generating real estate assets are viewed favorably as a hedge in an inflationary environment and this is certainly in evidence in the Irish market at present. There is a wall of international capital looking to deploy into Ireland’s real estate sector with particular demand for residential, student housing, industrial & logistics and office properties. Ireland’s development pipeline of core product across various sectors will sustain a continued flow of high value investment opportunities over the next 12 months”.
